Orthodontic diagnosis

Our clinic focuses on early detection of malocclusion. Often our dentists notice an orthodontic problem and they send for an orthodontic diagnosis. It is important to perform the first orthodontic medical examination at the age of 7 - 9.
Often during this time a full pantomographic picture is taken, so that a doctor can determine whether the development of the permanent teeth is proper. If the doctor finds irregularities, further testing and immediate treatment is recommended. Early diagnosis and early treatment prevents many difficult occlusion defects later on.

Full orthodontic diagnosis in adults and children involves creating so-called list of orthodontic problems and the treatment plan through an interview:
- intra-oral examination
- intra-oral examination
- photographic images
- orthodontic impressions and models
- pantomographic photo
- cephalometric photo

The first orthodontic visit is a so called consultation visit during which intra- and intra-oral examination is performed, photographic images as well as orthodontic problems are pre- determined.
The second orthodontic visit is a diagnostic visit during which orthodontic analysis based on orthodontic models, cephalometric and pantomographic photos as well as the consultation visit, a treatment plan is introduced.
Only after such a thorough diagnosis a doctor identifies the objectives of orthodontic treatment, presenting them in detail to the patient and proposes appropriate orthodontic appliance.
